Facts about MACSC

Nearly 7,000 community members make more than 60,000 + visits to the Center each year.

MACSC employs approximately 30 staff each year and has an annual budget of just over $700,000. 

More than 100 volunteers provide over 6,000 hours of service to the Center each year. This is the equivalent of 3 full-time staff.

MACSC programs range in focus from youth to seniors, individuals to extended families, advocacy to recreation, and assistance to donation – there really is something for everyone!

92% of all Mechanicville Middle School Students attended at least one MACSC sponsored activity in the 2005-06 school year.

1,118 individuals from the Greater Mechanicville Area, sat down to a Thanksgiving Dinner distributed by the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center in 2010.

MACSC celebrated our 1st year Anniversary of the Whistle Stop Leaning Center in January, 2010 with 24 slots available for childcare and preschool for three and four year old children.  This is in addition to our 56 licensed slots for the school aged care in Mechanicville and 40 slots for school aged care onsite at Hoosic Valley Elementary.  All programs are open year round and fully licensed through NYS OCFS.  

MACSC Summer Adventure Program, a free youth activity program licensed through the NYS Department of Health, was voted 2005 Best Kids Summer Program in Capital Region Living Magazine and Metroland.

MACSC is one of thirteen United Way of Northeastern New York recognized Family Resource Centers, the only one in Saratoga County.  Also, MACSC has been a United Way Agency for more than 30 years.

The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center is an active member in both the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County and the Mechanicville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The City of Mechanicville actually owns the building, but the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center is a private, non-profit, 501-c3 organization that is responsible for funding programs through grants, donations and fundraisers.

MACSC hosts four SUNY MSW Interns each school year as well as Skidmore Intern each spring.  

United Way of Northeastern New York's Community Leadership and Advocacy award recipient for 2007.
